Meet Christine Ervin, Former USGBC President Don't miss this opportunity! The USGBC Idaho Organizing Group, as part of the Idaho Energy Conference, has been given the opportunity to have a dialolgue with Christine Ervin, former Deputy Secretary of Energy and 1st president of the USGBC at the Idaho Energy Conference, October 13, 9:30am-11:00am, DoubleTree Riverside, Delmar Room. Ms. Ervin is speaking at the conference. This informal session is free so everyone should feel free to attend and to come with questions. | Idaho Energy Conference October 12-14, 2005, Boise, Idaho The USGBC Idaho Organizing Group will have a booth at the Idaho Energy Conference and needs volunteers to help man the booth. 2005 BetterBricks Awards The BetterBricks Awards recognize architects, engineers, developers, facility managers, and other building professionals for their support, use and design of sustainable, high performace, commercial buildings in the Northwest. | LEED-NC Technical Review Spaces are still available for the LEED-NC Technical Review Workshop at the Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, Thursday October 13th. Registration is $325 for USGBC members, $425 for non-members. |

| Adopting Green Building In July 2005, Salt Lake City passed an executive order to build green. In June 2005, Nevada became the second state, following Washington, to require all building construction with state money to meet certain green standards. The City of Phoenix also approved green building guidelines for new facilities. AIA Summit on Green Building On August 11, 2005 the AIA convened a Sustainable Building Standards Policy Summit. A special Task Group of 15 AIA members had the opportunity to listen to presentations from a number of stakeholders in the field of green/sustainable design building standards. The summit was the first step in a process of information gathering and careful consideration of sustainable design issues by the AIA in a new era of green building awareness. Read more >> |

| LEED-NC v2.2 Member Ballot The new version 2.2 contains substantive changes to credits in the rating systems, therefore it requires a member ballot. The ballot period will be open until October 27. If your organization is a member of the USGBC, the primary contact can vote. Read more >> |
