Ada County Parks & Waterways Headquarters in Barber Park
Idaho's newest LEED Certified Building Congratulations to everyone involved with the LEED Certification of the Ada County Parks & Waterways Headquarters in Barbar Park! At 10,000 sf, this building includes a green roof, natural daylighting, a high-efficient evaporative cooling system, and use of recycled-content building materials. | SLC Intermodal Hub LEED Certified Less than one year after Salt Lake City mayor Rocky Anderson directed all City buildings to be LEED Certified from the USGBC, the Intermodal Hub became the City's first project to receive LEED Certification. | The 2010 Imperative: Global Emergency Teach-In With so much attention given to transportation, many people are surprised to learn that buildings are the single largest contributor to global warming. To address the building sector's role in climate change, Architecture 2030, in partnership with AmericaSpeaks, is hosting a Global Emergency Teach-In. Chicago Unveils Rubber Sidewalks, Solar Powered Bus Shelters If you think Chicago's winter landscape is cold and boring, the city's new solar-powered bus shelters and a gray rubber sidewalk might do more than help save the enviroment. City officials unveiled the latest in a series of "green" technologies Wednesday - the first sun-charged bus shelter, which officials say won't cost the city a dime, and a 550-foot sidewalk made of recycled rubber.
