What is the Emerging Green Builders (EGB)?
The Emerging Green Builders is a USGBC Committee aimed to integrate students and young professionals into the green building movement primarily through its local chapter network.
Who can be an emerging green builder?
An emerging green builder is anyone from any discipline interested in becoming more involved in green building. This group includes students and young professionals as well as seasoned professionals who are new to the green building industry. For USGBC discounts one must be within 5 years of graduation or under 25.
How can I become involved?
The EGB Committee is working to create a Local EGB groups through USGBC chapters. We encourage those interested in EGB to become active in their local USGBC Chapter or Local EGB group.
What programs does the EGB coordinate?
EGB puts out a monthly newsletter, coordinates an annual design competition, hosts an annual Forum at Greenbuild, and is developing and helping to coordinate Local EGB groups. For updates on EGB activities or to receive the newsletter, sign on to the EGB listserv.
How do I sign up for the EGB listserv?
The Emerging Green Builders listserv provides updates on the development of the EGB, opportunities to get involved, and other relevant information. To join the EGB listserv send an email to majordomo@listserv.usgbc.org with only 'subscribe usgbc-emerginggreen' in the body of the message.
How do I access USGBC resources from USGBC?
Contact your local chapter to learn what green building resources are available to you. Ask your office or university if they are USGBC members.
How do I become involved in my Local EGB or USGBC Chapter?
Check out the chapter webpages, reach out to the chapter or group and contact them regarding your interest, attend a meeting, join a committee, and initiate or help plan an EGB event!
