2013 Energy and Green Building Conference

The annual Idaho Energy and Green Building Conference has now been hosted as a track of the general Association of Idaho Cities annual conference for two years. There are a lot of great energy and green building sessions this year including an all day workshop on Thursday, June 20th called Houses that Work which is good for USGBC/GBCI continuing education LEED credit hours. One day registrations are available in addition to the full conference registration.

LEED for Homes Workshop

USGBC-I has partnered with EcoEdge to provide a LEED for Homes Workshop coming up November 6th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The workshop will be held at the Integrated Design Lab located at 306 S. 6th Street, Boise, Idaho.
Workshop Learning Objectives
- Describe USGBC vs. GBCI and LEED Certification vs. Accreditation (“AP”) Processes
- List the LEED Rating Systems
- Discuss the intents, metrics and requirements of LEED H Credit Categories
- Identify and source referenced standards and additional resources
- Recognize local LEED H projects and trends in Idaho
- Explain key sustainability terms and concepts
- Identify green building best practices for new residential construction

International Facilities Management Association Northern Rockies Chapter Conference

The new Northern Rockies Chapter of the International Facilities Management Association will officially launch at their first regional conference September 13-14 in Idaho Falls. This will be a great opportunity to network with other facility professionals and to learn from industry leaders.
As you may know, IFMA, the International Facility Management Association, is the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for professional facility managers, supporting more than 22,655 members in 78 countries. Formed in 1980, IFMA certifies facility managers, conducts research, provides educational programs, recognizes facility management certificate programs and produces World Workplace, the world’s largest facility management conference and exposition.
