We’ve teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to bring intelligently designed beautiful homes to families in need. Join us to find out which entries have been selected as the competition winners! Update to LEED BD+C Idaho Workshop

This course is intended for those who have completed the “LEED Overview for Idaho” workshop and/or have
some experience with LEED and are looking to learn about the specifics of the LEED BD+C (Leadership in Energy
and Environmental Design Building Design + Construction) Rating System with a focus on NC (New Construction).
The course begins with a brief introduction to the benefits and integrative approach to green building as well as
background on the USGBC and LEED, including fundamentals of the building certification process. The course
presents an overview of LEED intents and requirements at the credit category level—touching on trends, best
practices and local examples. Key LEED metrics and referenced standards are addressed throughout. You will
leave this course with an intermediate understanding of the core concepts and strategies of the LEED BD+C
Rating System as well as more specific understanding of the intents and requirements of LEED NC.

USGBC Idaho-Green Expo Events

The Idaho Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is excited to announce that we are partnering with GreenWorks Idaho and the City of Boise to present this year’s Idaho Green Expo. The Idaho Green Expo is an event that promotes the various paths to sustainability through exhibits, workshops and networking that contribute to the knowledge of our community as we embrace the emerging green economy. Events associated with this year’s Expo run from Friday May 7th through Sunday May 9th. The USGBC Idaho Chapter is presenting several events and workshops including:
Eco- House Design Competition Interlude
Thursday, May 6th at the Integrated Design Lab-108 N. 6th Street Boise, Idaho
With the second annual Eco-House Design Competition underway the USGBC Idaho Chapter is hosting an interlude event to showcase sustainable and affordable housing.
Overview of LEED in Idaho Workshop
Friday, May 7 at Idaho Power. Registration required.
Join us for a half-day LEED workshop on Friday, May 7. The event focuses on understanding and implementing the LEED system in the state of Idaho and is from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Idaho Power Conference Room, 1221 W. Idaho St. in Boise. Registration is $100 for USGBC Idaho members and $150 for non-members. RSVP to Angie.Comish@gmail.com.
Building a Greener Idaho Party
Friday, May 7 at the Linen Building. Suggested donation at the door.
Three musical acts will come together for a good cause during Building a Greener Idaho on Friday, May 7. The event, a fundraiser and membership appreciation event for the Idaho Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council, starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise’s Linen District. Suggested donation is $5 for USGBC Idaho members and $7 for non-members (become a member at the door and get free admission). All ages. Local appetizers and no host bar with local beer and wine (ID required).
