LEED Overview for Idaho

This course is intended for those who are relatively new to green building and looking to learn the basics of green building and core concepts of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System).  The course begins with an introduction to the benefits and integrative approach to green building and a brief background on the U.S. Green Building Council and LEED, including basics of the building certification process and professional accreditation.  The course also presents an overview of LEED intents and concepts at the credit category level—across building types and rating systems—touching on trends and local examples.  Key LEED metrics and referenced standards are addressed throughout.  You will leave this course with a basic understanding of the intent, concepts and terms for each LEED rating system, as well as green building trends, regulations and incentives.

LEED EB&OM Training
September 17th 1-5 pm at the Idaho Power Building

This course is intended for those who have completed the “LEED Overview for Idaho” workshop or have some experience with a LEED project and are looking to learn about the specifics of the LEED EB + OM (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings + Operations and Maintenance) Rating System. The course begins with a very brief introduction to the benefits and integrative approach to green building as well as background on the U.S. Green Building Council and LEED, including fundamentals of the building certification process. The course presents an overview of LEED intents and requirements at the credit category level— touching on trends, best practices and local examples. Key LEED metrics and referenced standards are addressed throughout. You will leave this course with an intermediate understanding of the intent and requirements for the LEED EB + OM rating system and of green building trends, regulations and incentives for existing buildings.

LEED for Homes for Idaho
November 5th 1-5 pm at the Banner Bank Building
Boise, Idaho
$125 for members/$175 for non-members

This course is intended for those who have completed the “LEED Overview for Idaho” workshop or have some experience with a LEED project and are looking to learn about the specifics of the LEED for Homes (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System.  The course begins with a very brief introduction to the benefits and integrative approach to green building as well as background on the U.S. Green Building Council and LEED, including fundamentals of the building certification process.  The course presents an overview of LEED intents and requirements at the credit category level—touching on trends, best practices and local examples.  Key LEED metrics and referenced standards are addressed throughout.  You will leave this course with an intermediate understanding of the intent and requirements for the LEED for Homes rating system and of green building trends, regulations and incentives in residential construction.
