THURSDAY, MARCH 4
CREATING VALUE THROUGH SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT AND SERVICE DESIGN

Presented by John Lawrence, Professor, College of Business and Economics

More consumers are incorporating sustainability criteria into their purchase decisions.  Resources that our businesses and our customers have come to depend on are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive.  New environmental regulations are being introduced worldwide that are changing the competitive dynamic in many industries.  These shifts create both tremendous opportunity and significant risk for our organizations and challenge us to rethink and redesign the products and services we offer our customers.  In this session Professor John Lawrence will discuss how to incorporate sustainability into product and service design processes to meet this challenge.  Further, Professor Lawrence will discuss how to integrate design, sustainability and strategy in ways that will allow our organizations to capture real value from our investments in sustainable product and service design.
